On a very testing windy and wet day at Penrheol 4G pitch, Drefach Under 14s maintained their great run of form maintaining top spot of the table with a well-controlled 7-0 win against Ponturdulais U14s.  

Playing against the wind the first half the visitors played some quality football that shook the hosts from the start.

Both keepers Logan Jones and Danial Davies kept another clean sheet while the opposite side of the field with Trio attackers Elliot Morgan, Iwan Bull and Ryan Roberts who were on fire upfront with Roberts putting away two crosses with his head.

Midfield marshall’s were in the shape of Dylan Rhys, Lewis Thomas and Jayden Davies.

The three challenged for everything and were the main source of feeding the front men with a sublime performance. 

Centre backs Tomos Bull, Charlie Thomas and AJ Perry were solid and dominated the Ariel and ground threat from the Bont front warriors.

Backed up with wing backs Harri Thomas, Owain Jones and James Thomas who looked to attack at every opportunity.

After taking control of the first half The visitors moved up a gear in the second with the wind in their favour. With subs rolling on and off the game managed to maintain continuity and Drefach’s hard training was showing in the game.

There were chances plenty and it was Dylan Rhys who banged in two identical long-range goals with contender of the season for best goal.

Davies was also at it with another long-range drive and making it 5-0 to the visitors.

With the constant attacking it was inevitable that another one was coming and a long range shot from Iwan Bull saw a huge deflection come off the defender giving the keeper no chance.

Switching positions saw Owain Jones move upfront where he found his rewards by pouncing on a shot from Ryan Roberts to bang it home for Drefach’s seventh. 

This was one of the best performances of the season by this small but close-knit squad who get better and better every week.
