Mystery still surrounds the death of well-known Port Talbot woman Kelly Randall whose body was found at an address in Waunarlwydd last month.

Following detailed investigations after initially launching a murder enquiry, police have now confirmed that the cause of her death remains 'unexplained'.

Meanwhile Kelly Randall’s family are left desperately trying to pick up the pieces.

“We were first told she was missing on May 5 and there were some possible sightings which gave us hope that she was still alive,” said her daughter, Demi Davies. “ But it was a different woman. Despite searching for her, we kept hitting dead ends.”

Two weeks later Kelly Randall’s body was found in the garden of a property at Waunarlawydd, Swansea.

“Being told this news by the family liaison officers was horrible,” says Demi Davies.

“I know she had her own issues and was a heroin user who led quite a chaotic lifestyle, but we didn’t expect her to go in this way. The family had actually searched in that particular house where she was found and that’s the most chilling part. She was out the back all along.”

Kelly Randall, 45, was well-known around the Port Talbot area having attended the Sandfields Comprehensive School before training as a hairdresser. She worked at numerous salons and also had a mobile hairdressing business as well as a mobile snack shop which she operated from a van in the Sandfields area.

Meanwhile South Wales Police have confirmed that they are continuing their investigations into the unexplained death of Ms Randall.

"A forensic post mortem examination took place on Wednesday, May 18, and the cause of Ms Randall’s death is unexplained," said detective superintendent Darren George.  " As a result, our investigations are ongoing and further tests are being carried out.”

Ms Randall's funeral will be held on June 21 at Margam Crematorium at 12 noon. Everyone is welcome to attend and pay their respects.

"It’s completely devastating," concluded Miss Davies said. "No matter what lifestyle somebody takes, the way she was found is the thing we can’t comprehend as a family. It's so sad.”
