Cwmgors RFC have been relegated after an end-of-season loss to Nantymoel.

Their match - a 35-52 defeat took place at home at Parc y Werin following a penultimate fixture at Cwmafan on Thursday evening.

Cwmgors' season run of only two victories from 18 results in the team's relegation from Division 3 West (Central).

The sunny weather and ideal running conditions saw Nantymoel secure an early try.

Cwmgors retaliated swiftly with Mark Aston scoring a try, converted by Jordan Smith.

Adam Parker further advanced Cwmgors' position with an adept kick-chase, paving the way for Jordan Smith to score the club's second try which he converted.

This helped Cwmgors gain the lead.

Nantymoel's consistent scoring before halftime, however, reversed the game, with Cwmgors conceding three tries.

The visitors thus went into halftime enjoying a 24-14 advantage.

Cwmgors started the second half on a positive note, with Jordan Smith assisting Ioan Jones in getting his name on the scoreboard.

Despite this, the visitors thwarted further comeback attempts with two more successful tries, expanding their lead to 38-21.

Cwmgors rallied back with Owen Davies going over, aided by Smith's successful conversion.

Nonetheless, a seventh Nantymoel try occurred, followed by one made by Joe Meek for Cwmgors.

As the game wound down, a final Nantymoel try from their own 22 against a worn Cwmgors defence capped off the scoring.
