Onllwyn 4 Bryn Rovers 6

Bryn travelled to bottom club Onllwyn and were given a real scare before coming away with the deserved victory.

The visitors made the brightest start and scored inside a minute as Nick Lacey crossed for Adam Campbell to finish well.

It was 2-0 when Campbell set up player/manager Mark James to finish.

The game turned on its head on 20 minutes when the hosts were awarded a penalty for a hotly-disputed handball which saw Bryn's Tom Hurley get his name in the referee’s notebook. Rovers keeper Dylan Thomas was beaten as Onllwyn halved the arrears.

A long ball over the top set the home forward scampering goalward before he unleaseh a 25-yard wonder-strike to level the encounter.

The hosts took the lead when Bryn’s back line failed to deal with another long ball and David Penny fired his side into the lead with his second of the day.

Bryn battled back and with 30 minutes remaining, a well-worked corner routine gave Mark James the chance for his second to level.

Mark Griffiths scored the goal of the game to reclaim the advantage for Rovers after a surging 60-yard run before firing home from 20 yards.

Nick Lacey capped off a fine individual performance with a well-taken goal before Campbell grabbed his second to give Bryn the win.

Dylan Thomas had a fine performance in goal for Bryn with an inspired display including a superb double save in the first half, and a fantastic save to tip the ball around the post in the second.
