League Two West
Llandeilo 5 Tycroes 26
Tycroes returned to league action with a trip to Llandeilo and came away with a comfortable victory.
Due to the loss of a number of players missing through injury, Tycroes were forced to turn out a make-shift pack, but they still proved too strong for their youthful counterparts.
A wrong option in the first minute prevented Tycroes from opening the scoring, but the resulting pressure on the home defence saw them concede a penalty try only a minute later, Carwyn Richards added the easy conversion.
The scrum provided the platform for the visitors to launch their attacks and outside half Dean Bromham profited to waltz through the defence to score between the sticks on seven minutes, Richards again added the extras.
Midway through the first half a sweeping backs move saw Steff Jones power through some weak tackling to score near the posts, Richards again added the conversion.
Although the Llandeilo youngsters were down they certainly refused to bow out.
The second half showed there was something there for Llandeilo to work on into the future as they dominated territory.
Their efforts were rewarded on 55 minutes when Kevin Walters forced his way over in the corner, the conversion was unsuccessful.
Tycroes finally gained their bonus point try two minutes later when full back Carwyn Richards crossed in the corner.
The kick from wide out failed.
Next week Tycroes play hosts to Aberystwyth at Cae Gelli, kick off 2.30pm.
