Local motorcycle racer, teenager Lewis Jones was in action again recently at the circuit nicknamed the 'mini-Nürburgring', Cadwell Park in Lincolnshire.

He was competing once more in the Pirelli National Junior Superstock Championship at the seventh round of British Superbikes.

Home to the infamous “mountain” section, Cadwell Park's twisty and undulating nature, has seen it become one of the best circuits in the country, making it a firm favourite amongst many who visit and Lewis is no exception.

For Friday’s first free practice Lewis repeated his strategy from the last round by concentrating on consistency and completed 19 laps, his best lap of the session came on his final lap aboard his Kawasaki.

Saturday meant just one chance to change anything before the race and to get as high as possible on the grid, which he did, managing to qualifying in 18th place with his quickest lap ever at Cadwell (1.33.002).

In Sunday morning’s 10-minute warm up he finished in 11th and was really happy with the way the bike was feeling, as all the changes they’d made worked and he said: “I’m pushing forward positively every time out.”

So for the race things just got better and better for our local racer who crossed the finish time in 10th overall, as humble as ever afterwards Lewis just commented that “All the changes truly paid off and it was a great result for us all here at Cadwell Park in team Jones”.

Lewis next makes the long trip to Snetterton in Norfolk for the next round, and he can’t wait.
