Ammanford has been brightened up with a new street art installation.

Llanelli street artist Steve Jenks has transformed an old steel container in Ammanford Park into a colourful creation.

The street art, completed in under a week, features images of characters from Pixar's "Finding Nemo" movie. There is also a squirrel and a fox.

Not just a nod to popular culture, Mr Jenks has cleverly included references to the Amman Valley's mining history.

Details such as a miner's helmet, winding gear, and a depiction of Ammanford's Mining Memorial also feature in the artwork.

The unveiling of the street art goes hand in hand with the extensive refurbishment of the park's play area, splash park, and tennis courts - additions aimed at revitalising the town's main recreational spot.

All facilities are now open for the public to enjoy.
