A former Welsh Champion won the annual ten kilometre run in Llandeilo last Friday (May 31).

The Three Parks Challenge took place in Llandeilo and saw over 150 runners compete.

Representing Swansea Harriers, Dewi Griffiths finished first with a time of 32 minutes and 38 seconds, followed by Rob Davies from Amman Valley Harriers in a time of 37:02 and Llandeilo’s Jake Lynock from Carmarthen Harriers.

Sioned Howells from Swansea Harriers was the first female to finish with a time of 40:57, beating Joanna Lloyd Davies from Amman Valley (42:56) and Nerys Jones from Trots, St Clears (43.49).

They ran from the town's Cae William rugby fields before heading into the grounds of the National Trust's Dinefwr Park, passing across the front of Newton House. 

The runners then headed towards the town's Dinefwr Castle before running past the colourful terraced houses on Bridge Street.

(Image: Stuart Ladd)Penlan Park was the next landmark including the park's bandstand, then onto Parc Le Conquet, before re-entering Dinefwr Park and the home stretch to the finishing line back at Cae William.

After crossing the finish line all runners were treated to cheese and wine from Llandeilo Town's Twinning Association.
