THESE defendants have had their cases heard in court recently.

The charges against them included not wearing a seatbelt, speeding and failing to comply with a traffic sign.

Their cases were heard at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court.

Here’s a round-up of the cases.

OWAIN DAVIES, 32, of Ger Yr Afon in Glanaman, has been fined for not wearing a seatbelt.

Davies was accused of not wearing his seatbelt on the A474 Heol Y Gors in Cwmgors on August 30.

The defendant pleaded guilty under the single justice procedure at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on May 2.

He was fined £40 and must pay £90 in costs and a £16 surcharge.

SAMANTHA GUY, 35, of Caecoed in Llandybie, was caught speeding on the M4.

Guy was driving a Nissan at 57mph on the westbound M4 in the 50mph average speed limit at Port Talbot on September 23.

She pleaded guilty under the single justice procedure on May 2.

Guy was fined £66 at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court. She must also pay a £34 surcharge, and had three points added to her licence.

HEDDWYN EDWARDS, 32, of Pen Y Groes Road in Gorslas, was charged with failing to comply with a traffic sign on Fabian Way in Swansea, at the junction with Elba Crescent, on September 24.

The offence was proved using the single justice procedure at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court on May 2.

Edwards was fined £220 and must pay £90 in costs and an £88 surcharge. He also received three points on his licence.

ANTHONY WARREN, 63, of Bryncethin Road in Garnant, was caught speeding in a Dacia Sandero in Cardiff.

Warren was driving at 35mph on the 30mph North Road on August 25.

He pleaded guilty under the single justice procedure on May 2.

Warren was fined £65 at Cardiff Magistrates’ Court and must pay £90 in costs and a £26 surcharge. He also had three points added to his licence.
