A huge tractor run in Felinfach raised money for two hospitals in west Wales.

The Felinfach Tractor Run Group's annual event raised £5,405 for each of the Chemotherapy Day Units at Glangwili and Bronglais hospitals.

Over a decade, the group, consisting of individuals from Felinfach and Lampeter, has raised £80,000 for a range of charities.

This 10th run took place in April 2023, and saw more than 140 tractors beginning in Felinfach and traversing a 25-mile route through surrounding villages.

Aled Williams, a member of the group, said: "We chose to donate to the two units as Emyr Hughes, a local resident and friend to various members of the group, has received treatment and care at the Chemotherapy Day Unit at Glangwili Hospital.

"Thank you to all the organisers who worked so hard to make the tractor run a success and everyone who supported."

Head of Hywel Dda Health Charities, Nicola Llewellyn expressed appreciation for the community's initiatives, stating it allows them to help the health board provide extra services for patients on top of what the NHS usually provides.

The next tractor run is scheduled for April 28, 2024.
