Garden enthusiasts can take part in a special planting with afternoon tea in Swansea.

Dobbies, the UK's leading garden centre, has created a novel afternoon tea and planting experience for attendees at its Swansea store.

The event will take place on Saturday, April 13 and Saturday, April 20, beginning at 3pm.

It will last for 90 minutes, during which guests can indulge in afternoon tea while partaking in hands-on plant crafting. Each attendee will be given a planter worth £30.

As part of the experience, attendees will be treated to three tiers of sweet and savoury delicacies, including finger sandwiches, scones, rainbow meringue and lemon kiss.

There will also be unlimited tea and coffee or the option to upgrade the drink to a latte, cappuccino, mocha, hot chocolate or a specialty tea, but this comes at an extra cost.

After enjoying the afternoon tea, attendees in Swansea can join an interactive workshop hosted by a member of Dobbies' gardening team.

They will provide advice and answer questions on how to plant a container from scratch, and each attendee will get a chance to begin their own project with materials supplied.

Adam Veysey, Dobbies’ head of food development, said: "We’ve only just launched our brand new afternoon tea options and it’s fantastic that we’re able to offer this with an exclusive and new planting event for our customers in Swansea.

"We love creating a vibrant community at Dobbies where people of all ages and experiences can come together to give gardening a go, and having afternoon tea with a planting experience is the ideal combination.

"Whether you're a seasoned gardener or a beginner, everyone is welcome."

Tickets for the new Afternoon Tea and Planting Experience are available at £40 per person, with the planter valued at £30 included.
