PLANS have been submitted to Darlington Borough Council to build a three bed bungalow with a detached garage/store, hard standing, landscaping and provision of a new vehicular access with entrance gates and wall.

The work is proposed for land at Mole End, Neasham Road, Hurworth, near Darlington.

The applicants owns Mole End, Hurworth-on-Tees which is an existing cottage set in large grounds. The applicant wishes to develop a self-build accessible bungalow within the grounds.

The existing site consists of garden land associated with Mole End. The site is currently grassed with various sheds and planting. The site is accessed via an existing vehicular access to the west, directly from Neasham Road.

The proposals put forward show the use of Solar PV panels, EV charging port, ground source heat pump and mechanical Ventilation and Heat Recovery.

The materials have been chosen will maintain a high level of insulation while allowing the building to ‘breathe’.

The proposed dwelling has been positioned to maximise on solar gain with south facing windows.
