A special cheese and wine event was held in Llandeilo on February 15.

Hosted by the Llandeilo Town Twinning Association at St Teilo’s Church, the event saw 'huge numbers', much to the organisers' delight.

Social secretary Brenda Vautier said: "It was fantastic to see so many people there, in spite of the miserable weather.

"At least a dozen people have asked to be added to our mailing list about future events, and several are applying for full membership, which is very encouraging."

The attendees enjoyed fresh crepes, Welsh cakes, and a raffle as well as wine and cheese amidst a wonderful atmosphere created by music played by Dan, Claudine and Eva.

Linda Durgan, chairperson of the group, said: "We’re very grateful to the Vicar for the use of the church, which proved to be a great venue for sharing our stories and images."

The next event - a social evening featuring a bingo session and likely Welsh Rarebits - is scheduled for April 12, between 7 and 9pm at Hengwrt.
