A MAN harassed a woman in Cross Hands before making multiple nuisance 999 calls and assaulting a police officer.

Scott Fraser, 35, of no fixed abode, appeared at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court where he faced three charges.

Fraser was alleged to have used threatening and abusive words and behaviour with the aim of harassing a woman in Cross Hands on February 18 and causing her alarm or distress.

He was also charged with persistently making use of a public electronic communications network for the purpose of causing annoyance, inconvenience or needless anxiety to another over February 18 and 19.

Fraser was accused of assaulting a police officer in Llanelli on February 19.

He pleaded guilty to each offence at Llanelli Magistrates’ Court on February 20.

Fraser was jailed for 18 weeks for assaulting the police officer – brought up from 14 weeks due to it being an attack on an emergency worker.

He was sentenced to 12 weeks each, both running concurrently, for the remaining offences.
