A ROAD in Carmarthenshire will be closed for resurfacing works for six weeks.

Carmarthenshire County Council has announced that it will be closing the A482 road in Llanwrda towards the end of February.

The stretch of road that will be closed is:

  • The A482 Llanwrda to Pumpsaint from a point 1.3km from the junction with the unclassified road of Heol Y Gelli, in a northerly direction for 406m.

The alternative route for southbound traffic is to proceed along the A482 Llanwrda in a north westerly direction from a point north of the closure, passing Pencilmaren Farm, to its junction with the B4302 Crugybar. At the junction, turn left and continue in a south westerly direction along the B4392 Crugybar, passing through the villages of Crugybar, Talley, Halfway, to its junction with the A40 Rhosmaen.

At the junction, turn left and continue in a north easterly direction along the A40 Rhosmaen, passing through Rhosmaen, to its junction with the A482 Llanwrda. At the junction, turn left and continue in a north westerly direction along the A482 Llanwrda to return to a point south of the closure.

The alternative route for northbound traffic is vice versa to the above.

The closure will come into force on February 26 and will remain in place for six weeks to allow for road structure and resurfacing works to be completed. Pedestrian access and vehicular access to individual properties will be maintained where possible.
