A MAN has been charged with drink driving after a Christmas Day crash in Ammanford.

The crash happened on Llandybie Road, Bonllwyn, at around 10.10pm on Monday, December 25, when a 46-year-old man driving a blue Volkswagen Golf hit an electric post and a number of parked cars.

Dyfed-Powys Police confirmed that the man – who was not injured, and no injuries were reported – was arrested and charged with driving a motor vehicle when above the legal level of alcohol. He was bailed and is due to appear in Llanelli Magistrates Court on January 16.

A spokesperson for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “Police attended a road traffic collision which occurred at about 10.10pm on Monday, 25th December 2023.

“A blue Volkswagen Golf collided with an electric post and several vehicles parked on Llandybie Road, Ammanford.

“No injuries reported.

“A 46-year-old man has been charged with driving a motor vehicle when alcohol level above limit. He has been bailed to appear at Llanelli Magistrates Court on the 16th January 2024.”
