A TOWY Valley club has donated funds from its recent show to a local hospital.
The Towy Valley Vintage Club held its 29th annual vintage show back in June at the Pontargothi Showground. The organisation’s members have a wide range of vintage items including tractors, cars and motorbikes.
The club donated £200 to the special care baby unit at Glangwili Hospital after one of the club’s members had a personal experience with the unit.
Mared Davies, one of the members, said: “My son, Bleddyn Dafi Bryant, received vital care and support at the unit during the first week of his life. The staff were very supportive and friendly.”
Sandra Pegram, the unit manager, said: “We are so grateful for this generous donation to the special care baby unit which will enable us to provide services and activities over and above what the NHS can normally provide. It will make sure a positive difference to experience of our patients and their families. A huge thank you from us all.”
Nicola Llewelyn, head of Hywel Dda Health Charities, the official charity of Hywel Dda University Health Board, said: “The support of our local communities enables us to provide services over and above what the NHS can provide in the three counties of Hywel Dda and we are extremely grateful for every donation we receive.”
