THERE will be a number of festive events taking place at a Towy Valley landmark throughout the end of November and December.

National Trust’s Dinefwr will be hosting a Christmas fair at the end of November. Attendees will be able to enjoy a walk around the frontage of Newton House where there will be festive stalls selling a range of items from handmade jewellery to preserves on November 24, 25 and 26.

Newton House will have a spectacular tree in the outer hall and the staircase and fireplaces will be decorated for the festive season, with twinkling lights to make visitors feel at home. The theme this year is woodland banquet and this will see an eccentric nature themed table, stockings and lots of treats for the senses throughout the house.

Santa will be taking time out from his busy schedule to visit Dinefwr on the weekends until December 17. Booking is essential for this.

On December 15, there will be an evening of community carols, and two evenings of the Welsh wassailing folk tradition of Mari Llwyd on December 22 and 29.

There will also be plenty of time to go on walks around the estate, as well as up to the castle and to walk along the North Drive to the cattle shed where the White Park Cattle will be settled in for the weekend.

Newton House and the café will be open on weekends from November 26 to December 31 as well as weekdays from December 26-29. The parkland will be open daily but the deer park is closed.
