A GARAGE in the Amman Valley will be turned into a holiday let accommodation.

Plans to convert a garage on Heol Cae Gurwen, Gwaun Cae Gurwen, into holiday let accommodation were submitted by Duncan Tait.

The plans for the 225 square metre property would see the rendered masonry walls and concrete interlocking tile roof match the existing property and will include parking provision and a facility for turning and a single-storey extension.

On October 19, Neath Port Talbot Council approved the plans with the conditions that work must start within five years of the approval date and be in line with the approved plans.

A number of other conditions were also put in place relating to the parking and biodiversity enhancement and boundary treatments, sewage and surface water.

There is also a condition that the property is only occupied as a short-term holiday let and must not be occupied by any one person for a period of more than 31 days in the calendar year. There must also be an up-to-date register kept at the holiday accommodation and made available for inspection by the planning authority on request. It must contain details of the names of the occupiers of the holiday let, their main addresses and the dates of arrival and departure.
