THIS past Saturday was ‘National Convoy Day’ and saw around five convoys take part in a protest against the 20mph speed limits imposed in Wales.
One of the convoys began at Pont Abraham services on Saturday, October 28, with a number of cars heading along the M4 to meet up with two other south Wales convoys in Cardiff.
A number of the participants decorated their cars including a ‘Welsh lives matter’ flag, and ‘say no to 20’ posters.
There was also a convoy from Swansea to Cardiff, Magor Services to Cardiff on the M4, Welshpool/Newtown to Cardiff, Wexham to Bangor Services and Llanddulas to Wrexham.
The convoys were taking part in 'go slow' protests which affected the M4, A483 and A55.
The National Convoy Day was organised in protest against the ULEZ zone in London and other low emission zones in cities like Bristol and Birmingham as well as the 20mph limit in Wales, which has seen more than 500,000 signatures on a petition to overturn the limit.
