A LLANDOVERY business has celebrated a successful year fundraising for a vital Welsh charity.
The Castle Hotel in Llandovery has been running a series of evenings of entertainment in the form of a weekly quiz throughout the summer.

The quizzes were provided by Rod and Sally and through small donations at each quiz, they were able to raise £2,000 which was presented to Blood Bikes Wales, the venue’s chosen benefactor.
Blood Bikes Wales provides a vital service to help save the lives of the people of Wales who are most in need. The volunteers provide a free courier service to the NHS, delivering blood samples, plasma, donated human milk, documents and other items across Wales.

They work with six health boards including Hywel Dda University Health Board, Swansea Bay University Health Board, Cwm Taf Morgannwg University Health Board, Aneurin Bevan University Health Board, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board and Powys Teaching Health Board.
The service is provided free of charge and operates from 7pm on Friday evenings until midnight on Monday mornings and bank holidays and Christmas to ensure that the relevant items are delivered no matter what time of day it is needed.
