THIS past week, a local animal rescue charity took in its biggest single intake of rescue dogs.

Many Tears Animal Rescue, based in Cefneithin, took in 150 dogs in one day.

The charity said that the dogs are ‘all so desperate and overwhelmed right now,’ but stated that they have all been given fresh fleeces and duvets and were tucked in under their heated lamps, will have the best food and toys for the first time.

The charity also provided an update on the health of the tiny pug Borgon, who was looking to be suffering from heart failure and will be seeing a cardiologist straight away.

Many Tears will be putting all of the adult dogs through their relevant surgeries including being spayed or castrated and the ones that need immediate specialist care – like Borgon – will be given it.

“One thing’s for sure, they will now only ever know love for the rest of their lives,” said the charity.

The charity also thanked those who have helped recently, by fostering and adopting some of the other dogs in their care which helped to free up space to take in these dogs, and those who donated to help develop and expand the site to provide the room to take in the ‘precious souls.’

The dogs will be assessed and will be put on the website ready for adoption in stages, with some already online and available for adoption, and some already having homes to go to.
