THIS bank holiday weekend will see an annual family fun day take place to raise money for two local charities.

Ammanford Cricket Club will host the fun day which has been organised by Morganstone and Westacres, on Sunday, August 27.

The highlight of the day will be the cricket match between Ammanford Cricket Club and Morganstone, where they will vie for the DH Cup (Dafydd Hywel).

Alongside the cricket, there will be a lot of fun activities for all the family including funfair rides, arts and crafts, festival tattoos, mascot race, stalls and face painting, as well as prosecco for the adults, strawberries and a BBQ.

In the evening, there will also be live entertainment from the Midnight Fiddle Band.

Entry on the day is free and all proceeds will go to the Jac Lewis Foundation and Joseph’s Smile.

A spokesperson for Joseph’s Smile said: “We would like to say a huge thank you with tons of gratitude to Ian, Tonia and their exceptional team for their unwavering and generous support for our charity.”

Joseph’s Smile charity was set up following the death of Brynamman three-year-old Joseph Yeandle with the aim of helping families to cover medical costs and provide a support network for families.

The Jac Lewis Foundation was set up in 2019 in memory of Jac Lewis, a popular Ammanford man to help people struggling with their mental health.

The fun day will begin at Ammanford Cricket Club at 10.30am on Sunday, August 27 and will run until late.
