AN event in Ammanford to bring people together using arts and crafts was a success.

Chinese in Wales arranged for a fun morning on Tuesday, August 1, at Ammanford Library where attendees learnt and took part in Chinese brush painting, calligraphy, tea tasting and knotting craft.

Glanamman artist Mr Chan led the session on Chinese painting, being the first time in 40 years what he has shared his skills.

People of all ages and skill levels attended, including experienced artists who run their own clubs and teach children to sketch.

It was also an opportunity to network, with one parent finding an art teacher for her son, and another artist who gave up painting but was inspired to start again by the event.

A local art group who attended asked Mr Chan to consider running regular sessions.
