POLICE investigating a missing woman in the Swansea Valley have found a body.
South Wales Police have been investigating the disappearance of 44-year-old Claire Morgan who was last seen in Ystalyfera at 11pm on Saturday, July 22.
A search was launched and emergency services were called to the River Tawe in Ynysmeudwy on Monday, July 24, where a body of a woman was found.
A formal investigation has yet to take place, but Claire’s family has been informed.
The full statement from South Wales Police read: “Police officers investigating the disappearance of Claire Morgan have recovered the body of a woman from the river in Ystalyfera.
“Her family has been informed and the investigation is continuing.
“Formal identification has yet to take place.”
