A COMMUNITY run with a difference is taking place in Ammanford later this month, when Actif hosts its first Rainbow Run for all generations, no matter age or ability.
“Although called a run, it is a 2km distance and can be completed in any shape or form, run, walk, wheelchair users, pushchairs, dancing. Whatever makes the participants happy,” said Actif’s Jozan Morgan.
The Rainbow Run will see participants ‘transformed into artwork’ as they make their way along the 2km route, as there are stations of coloured powdered ‘paint’ which is plant-based starch.
Participants can wear face masks if they wish, but are encouraged to wear eyewear such as sunglasses, glasses and goggles.
The Rainbow Run will take place at Ammanford Recreational Ground on Sunday, July 23, from 11am. Entry is £2, and tickets are able to be booked through the Actif app, on Eventbrite or by calling Amman Valley Leisure Centre on 01269 594517.
Anyone who is looking to volunteer for the event or get involved in the work Actif does, can email actifcommunities@carmarthenshire.gov.uk
