A FIRST food and music event will be held at a Carmarthenshire venue later this year.

Aberglasney Gardens in Llanarthney will be hosting its first Food & Music Fair in September.

The event – which will take place over a weekend – will feature a celebration of locally produced food and drink as well as entertainment from west Wales based artists.

The Gardens will be transformed into a food paradise, with dozens of stalls that are selling locally produced cakes, cheeses, charcuterie, chutneys, chocolate, wine and spirits and there will also be ‘on-the-go’ food and drink vendors. Aberglasney’s Tearooms will also be open with its terrace overlooking the pool garden.

Music will come from a range of artists including Flyrites.

Jim Stribling, director of operations at Aberglasney Gardens, said: “We want to hold a celebratory event at the end of the summer which will bring together some of the wonderful food and drinks producers we have in this area.

“Visitors will be able to experience the taste and sound of west Wales as well as enjoy the beauty of the gardens.”

The Food & Music Fair will be held at Aberglasney Gardens on Saturday, September 9 and Sunday, September 10 between 10am and 6pm.

Entrance to the event is £10 per person and there will be no separate entrance fee into the gardens. Members of Aberglasney will be able to enter the festival for free as part of their membership package.

There are a few spaces left for stallholders. Anyone interested should email events@aberglasney.org or call Sam Worton on 01558 668998. For more information about the festival and Aberglasney Gardens, visit www.aberglasney.org
