A CARMARTHENSHIRE road will be closed to traffic for around three weeks.

The road in Llandovery was closed on June 12 and will remain closed for three weeks or until work is completed according to a public notice placed by Carmarthenshire County Council in the June 14 edition of the South Wales Guardian.

The work being completed is the undergrounding of cables by National Grid.

The specified road is:

  • College View, Llandovery, from its junction with the A40 trunk road for around 200 metres in a south-westerly direction.

There is an alternative route for vehicles which is for northbound traffic:

From a point south of the closure to proceed in a southerly direction along College View to the junction with the A4069 Broad Street. Turn left at the junction and continue in a north-easterly direction along Broad Street to the junction with the A40 trunk road known as Queensway. Turn left again at the junction and travel in a north-westerly direction along Queensway to the junction with College View at a point north of the closure. The alternative route is vice-versa for southbound traffic.

During the closure period, pedestrian access will be maintained and access to individual properties will be maintained where possible.
