A FESTIVAL to celebrate youth and youth provision will be held in the Amman Valley this weekend.

Canolfan Maerdy in Tairgwaith, will host YouthFest ’23 on Saturday, May 27 between midday and 9pm.

It is organised by youth club Maerdy Youth, which is based at the centre, with the aim of shining a spotlight on youth provision in the Upper Amman Valley.

It has been crafted by the staff with collaboration from the youngsters involved in the club, who will also be volunteering at the event.

There will be a number of workshops by a range of organisations including Organised Kaos, Bulldogs Boxing, Mess Up The Mess, UptoTreble and One Heart Drummers.

These will allow young people to explore their interests and find new talents, as well as create lasting connections in the community.

There will also be a range of stalls, food and drink on offer and entertainment from a DJ as well as an e-sports tournament to show off the skills of young gamers. The day will end with a disco.

YouthFest ’23 will take place at Canolfan Maerdy in Tairgwaith, on Saturday, May 27 between 12pm and 9pm. It is open to young people aged 11 to 18, or in year 6 and above.
