A POPULAR literature festival will return later this month.

Llandeilo Lit Fest will take place at the end of April and feature a range of authors, poets and songwriters from across Wales.

It is the sixth annual festival and is set to be the biggest so far with more than 24 authors and poets talking about subjects such as sport, art, music, history, identity, crime, politics and the Welsh language and environment.

The festival will celebrate some of Wales’ best new literature and writers with an entertaining programme of live music, myths and legends, sports stars, pottery shenanigans and workshops on creative writing and poetry.

Ceri Philips will tell Welsh folk tales and there will be local musicians performing throughout the town.

On Saturday, April 29, there will be a pottery fest at the lit fest for people to get involved in pottery.

Christoph Fischer, chairman of the festival, said: “I’m so proud that we’re back with a bonanza of brilliant books for 2023. The return of evening events and our presence all over town will add to Llandeilo’s appeal as a bank holiday weekend destination. Joio.”

Llandeilo Lit Fest will take place between April 28-30. The talks will take place at venues across the town including Hengwrt, The White Heart, Oriel Mimosa and The Civic Hall. The local restaurants and cafes will have special menus and Hengwrt will host the Llandeilo Lit Fest bookshop.
