TWO planning applications for properties within conservation areas have recently been submitted to Carmarthenshire County Council.

The first application (reference PL/05575) was submitted by Mr and Mrs N Humphries and is for permission to install a sprinkler system and associated water storage tank at Felin Wen, Penpound Lane, Llandybie.

The second application (reference PL/05598) was submitted by Mr and Mrs Bishop for permission to make alterations to Ystradffin, Llandovery.

The property is a Grade II listed building for being a ‘good example of a substantial late Georgian estate farmhouse rebuilt incorporating parts of a C17 house.’

The ground floor’s earlier renovations obscured or compromised the historic fabric, but the upper floors retain much of their original structure and character.

The proposed works will be on the ground floor and are to replace rotten or UPVC windows and doors, remove falling render, renovate the kitchen, pantry and providing bathroom facilities on the first floor.

The applications were placed in the South Wales Guardian on March 29 by Carmarthenshire County Council.

Full details can be found by visiting www.carmarthenshire.gov.uk/planningapplications and searching for the relevant planning reference number as listed above.

Anyone wishing to make a representation on the application can do so by the above link, by emailing planningconsultations@carmarthenshire.gov.uk or by writing to Planning Services, Civic Offices, Crescent Road, Llandeilo, SA19 6HW.

If making a representation by the latter options, the reference for the planning application must be included.

The deadline for representations for both applications is April 19, 2023.
