Leonard Cheshire helps support Carmarthenshire residents living with disabilities to live a more independent life.

Leonard Cheshire’s My Voice My Choice campaign has been hosting workshops on a number of topics to help those who are living with disabilities. Some of the topics included disability rights, social inclusion and mental health and wellbeing.

On January 27, one of the My Voice My Choice events was held at Carmarthen Leisure Centre and attended by Mid and West Wales MS Joyce Watson. She has supported the charity’s work for a number of years.

Ms Watson said: “My Voice My Choice is all about giving disabled people and their allies the advocacy skills, confidence and knowledge to make a positive difference to their lives and local communities.

“It was wonderful to meet so many inspiring people and hear their stories – congratulations to everyone involved.”

Rhian Stangroom-Teel, Leonard Cheshire’s public engagement manager for Wales, said: “Delivering My Voice My Choice across Carmarthenshire has been inspiring, with one participant at our celebration event stating that everyone should join My Voice My Choice as it’s educational, fun and a great reason to get out of the house.”
