A PONTARDDULAIS driver has been jailed for persistent offending.

Ashley Cann, 26, of Clos Maes yr Ysgol, Pontarddulais, admitted three charges at Llanelli Magistrates Court on January 26.

Cann admitted a charge of driving whilst disqualified for an offence of driving a SAAB on the B4297 on January 25 when banned from driving.

A charge of driving without insurance for the same date was also admitted, as was a third charge of possessing a class B drug, relating to the same date after Cann was caught in possession of seven grams of herbal cannabis.

Cann was jailed for 12 weeks due to committing the offences while under the operational period of a suspended sentence, banned from driving for four years and ordered to pay £85 costs.

The drugs were forfeited and destroyed.
