A SWANSEA Valley man will appear in crown court next month on car theft charges.

Lennon Hilton, 22, of Heol Gleien, Lower Cwmtwrch, will be sentenced at Swansea Crown Court next month for four offences.

Hilton appeared at Merthyr Tydfil Magistrates Court on January 20 when he entered pleas to four charges.

The first charge is a count of burglary of a dwelling with no violence, relating to October 4, when he stole a car key from a house in Ystradgynlais.

The second charge was for aggravated vehicle taking, which related to the first charge where he took the car key, as he then took the Vauxhall for use unlawfully, where he then crashed into a bollard.

He indicated a plea of guilty to both of the above offences at the magistrates court.

The third charge, which he pleaded guilty to, was for driving the Vauxhall otherwise than in accordance with a licence authorising him to drive a motor vehicle of that class.

The fourth charge was for driving the Vauxhall on Cwmphil Road, Gurnos, without an insurance policy in place to cover the use of the vehicle. He pleaded guilty to this.

Hilton has been granted conditional bail, with the condition being that he does not contact the witness or go within 400 metres of the witness’ property.

He is due to appear at Swansea Crown Court on February 3 for sentence.
