A NUMBER of speeding drivers have recently appeared in court.

Gareth David Charles Pugsley, 38, of Plunch Lane, Mumbles, Swansea, was found guilty of speeding by Llanelli Magistrates Court on January 3.

He was caught on June 10 doing 35mph in a Mercedes-Benz Sprinter on the A483 Bonllwyn-Ammanford Road, Llandybie, where the limit is 30mph.

He was fined £220, given three points on his licence and ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Matthew Dunn, 40, of Cwm Nant Hir Terrace, Tairgwaith, Ammanford, admitted speeding at Llanelli Magistrates Court on January 3.

He was caught on June 21 doing 55mph in a Vauxhall Astra on the A474 Pontamman Road, Pontamman, where the limit is 30mph.

He was fined £300, given six points on his licence and ordered to pay £120 surcharge and £90 costs.

David Handford, 71, of Gors Ddu Road, Penygroes, admitted speeding at Llanelli Magistrates Court on January 3.

He was caught on June 13 doing 26mph in a Kia Rio on Heol Blaenhirwaun, Drefach, where the limit is 20mph.

He was fined £40, given three points on his licence and ordered to pay £834 surcharge and £90 costs.

Andrew John Mackay, 37, of Bethlehem Road, Pwll Trap, St Clears, admitted speeding at Llanelli Magistrates Court on January 3.

He was caught on June 25 doing 90mph in a BMW 3 Series on the A483 near bridge of Afon Bran, Llandovery to Beulah, where the limit is 60mph.

He was fined £415, given six points on his licence and ordered to pay £166 surcharge and £90 costs.

He was fined £120, given six points on his licence and ordered to pay £48 surcharge and £90 costs.

James Patrick McCready, 31, of Clement Drive, Newton Mearns, Glasgow, was found guilty of speeding by Llanelli Magistrates Court on January 5.

He was caught on June 21 doing 38mph in a BMW 3 Series on the A474 Pontamman Road, Pontamman, where the limit is 30mph.

He was fined £220, given three points on his licence and ordered to pay £88 surcharge and £90 costs.
