AN Amman Valley man has been given a suspended prison sentence after being caught driving immediately after being banned from the roads.

Alan Golding, 27, of Llys Melyn, Penygroes, admitted two driving charges at Llanelli Magistrates Court on December 22.

He admitted that on November 30, he drove an Audi TT on Garnswllt Road, Ammanford, without an insurance policy in place to cover the use of the vehicle.

He also admitted that on the same date, he drove the car whilst being banned from driving.

He was given a 12-week prison sentence, suspended for 12 months and made to carry out 200 hours of unpaid work. He was given a prison sentence due to having a ‘flagrant disregard for court orders’ and driving on the same day he was banned.

He was banned from driving for 47 months and ordered to pay £85 costs.
