A NUMBER of motorists from the Amman and Swansea Valleys have been in court recently for a range of driving offences.

Gaynor Wynne Martin, 54, of New Road, Upper Brynamman, admitted running a red light at Cardiff Magistrates Court on December 20.

She committed the offence on July 21 when she drove her Skoda Fabia through a red light on the A474 Neath Road at the junction with Heol y Nant and Heol Alfred Wallace, Rhos, Pontardawe.

She was fined £100, given three points on her licence and ordered to pay £40 surcharge and £90 costs.

Stephen Griffiths, 50, of Llandyfan, Ammanford, was found guilty of causing unnecessary obstruction on a road by Llanelli Magistrates Court on December 20.

He committed the offence on June 1 when he was driving a Peugeot 3008 on Hoel Vastre, Vastre, Newtown, and parked it partially on the carriageway and partially on the pavement on a T junction white lines.

He was fined £220 and ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Jaryd Allen Nunan, 34, of Maes y Coed Road, Cilmaengwyn, Pontardawe, was found guilty of not wearing a seatbelt by Cardiff Magistrates Court on December 23.

He committed the offence on July 4 when he was caught on Ynysmeudwy Road driving a Toyota Corolla without wearing a seatbelt.

He was fined £220 and ordered to pay £88 surcharge and £90 costs.

Silviu Enache, 37, of Dol y Dderwen, Ystradgynlais, was found guilty of using a mobile phone while driving by Llanelli Magistrates Court on December 22.

He committed the offence on June 6 when he was driving a Volvo S40 D Drive on Merlin’s Hill, Haverfordwest while using a mobile phone.

He was fined £220, given six points on his licence and ordered to pay £34 surcharge and £90 costs.

Paul Morris Baker Jones, 60, of Hall Street, Ammanford, was found guilty of driving without insurance by Llanelli Magistrates Court on December 22.

He was caught on June 10 driving a BMW 635 on Iscennen Road, Ammanford, without an insurance policy in place to cover the use of the vehicle.

He was fined £660, given six points on his licence and ordered to pay £66 surcharge and £90 costs.
