A Carmarthenshire fish and chip shop has been named as the best fish and chip shop in Wales at the Welsh Restaurant Awards 2022.
West End Fish and Chips in Carmarthen won the award for best fish and chip restaurant at the awards, which were held recently in Cardiff.
Each winner was chosen by a mixture of public voting and judging from specialists in the industry.
The fish and chip shop was one of three winners from west Wales.
The others were The Stone Crab in Saundersfoot, which won Seafood Restaurant of the Year, while Lotus Restaurant and Takeaway in Pendine won Outstanding Restaurant of the Year.

A spokesperson for these Welsh Restaurant Awards 2022 said: “It is true that Wales combines tastes and flavours from all over the world, where visitors can find different restaurants to meet their needs.
“These awards aim to thank those that work hard within the country’s food industry and contribute to making Wales a great culinary place to visit. It was lovely to be a part of this celebration and we would like to make sure that the hard work of Wales’s food professionals does not go unnoticed. The winners enhance the country’s reputation nationally and internationally and we would like to congratulate all finalists and winners for their achievements.”
