A LLANDYBIE photographer is going to bring festive magic to families in South Wales.

Adele Morris will be working with Father Christmas himself to bring South Wales families some Christmas joy and to raise money for charity.

In 2021, Ms Morris worked with Allan Evans, a well-known Father Christmas who is commonly known as Stell Works Santa, after her own children’s belief in Christmas magic was ignited by Mr Evans. His wife Sharon as Mrs Claus and daughter Katie as chief elf in Porthcawl.

Mr Evans, who is from Maesteg, became Father Christmas four years ago for the children’s Christmas parties at Tata Steel, but it snowballed and the family spend each festive season raising money for local charities and Alzheimer’s Society Cymru in memory of Mrs Evans’ mother who died from the disease in 2020.

Ms Morris – who runs Adele Morris Photography – said: “We did a trial run last year and it was a sell out and we raised amazing amounts of money for Alzheimer’s Society Cymru and GIST Cancer UK.

“The children had the best time, and we are already excited to do it all over again this year which will be even bigger and better.

“Being a mum to three little ones I know Christmas is for the children to experience the excitement, and us parents only have a handful of Christmases to watch them believing in the magic.

"They really do grow up far too fast, so I wanted to create something very special for that short window with Allan who even tricks us adults in believing he is the real Santa.”

MORE NEWS:

Ms Morris – who has been published in Vogue and won a number of awards – has been doing Santa photoshoots as early as April this year, to help families with children with additional needs get their photos with Santa in a less overwhelming and busy time.

She said: “Creating the Santa experience is an opportunity for me to give back to the local community.

“I’ve been doing Christmas photo shoots with Santa as early as April this year. These are mostly families who find it too challenging to do Christmas events due to their children having additional needs and get overwhelmed around the busy period.

“To avoid them missing out I wanted to give them access to an opportunity to create those special memories.

“My three-year-old has learning difficulties so I know first-hand how overwhelming it can be especially at Christmas, which is why we are doing sessions early for families.”

There are Christmas sessions booked in for November 19 and 20 at Kenfig National Nature Reserve and bespoke sessions will be done for all children who go to see Santa.

Proceeds from the events will go to Alzheimer’s Society Cymru and GIST Cancer UK.
