The people of Llandovery gathered in Market Square as the town marked the death of Queen Elizabeth II with a short service of remembrance.

During the weekend's Sheep Festival, residents attended the service in the town centre on Sunday, September 18, the day before the Queen's funeral.

In the service, Reverend Paul Pritchard read prayers to mark the death of the former Queen, while mayor of the town Handel Davies also read out a tribute.

The mayor made a special mention to the new King, Charles III, who is highly regarded in the town as a neighbour, with his Llwynywermod estate only a few miles away near Myddfai.
