AN Ammanford trader will be sentenced at Swansea Crown Court next month for multiple charges relating to his practices.

James Sibley, 37, of Ashgrove, Ammanford, admitted 15 charges of “being a trader, knowingly or recklessly engaged in a commercial practice which contravened the requirements of professional diligence.”

He admitted the offences at Llanelli Magistrates Court on September 9.

Five of the charges relate to Sibley stating he was an ‘experienced, competent, and professional landscaper/builder where in fact he was not.’

These offences were committed between October 4, 2020, and November 15, 2021, with four different victims.

A further five charges related to Sibley failing to provide the victims with their legally applicable cancellation in the correct form, which caused or was likely to cause the consumer to take a transactional decision they otherwise would not have.

The final five charges related to Sibley providing a quote and accepting work on the victim’s behalf, whilst knowing he did not have the financial circumstances to be able to complete the contracts.

All of the offences took place between October 4, 2020, and November 15, 2021, in the Ammanford, Pontardawe, Neath, Carmarthen and Llandybie areas.

He is due to be sentenced at Swansea Crown Court on October 7.
