A 14-year-old boy has been banned from entering Neath town centre after being arrested on suspicion of eight counts of commercial burglary.

His arrest follows a sharp spike in criminal damage to properties in the town centre as well as an increase in burglaries.

“The arrest follows a joint investigation between neighbourhood officers and detectives from CID and as a result, the 14-year-old boy has been arrested on suspicion of eight count of commercial burglary,” confirmed police inspector Lindsey Sweeney.

“The boy has been bailed with strict conditions not to enter Neath town centre whilst our enquiries continue.”
