Llandeilo football star Ffion Morgan has put pen to paper on a new one-year deal with Bristol City.

The former Ysgol Tre-Gib student has played at Crystal Palace, Coventry United and Cardiff City, and represented Ammanford.

The midfielder made 22 appearances for the Robins last season, contributing to five goals in the process, with a very important brace coming away to Lewes FC back in March.

The second of her two goals on the South Coast earned a nomination for the FA Women's Championship Goal of the Month.

Her form in the red and white of Bristol City didn't go unnoticed as she was continually selected to step to international level by Wales boss Gemma Grainger.

Morgan featured in both FIFA World Cup qualifiers against France and Kazakhstan back in April.

The Welsh international has had a successful first season as a full-time professional footballer and is now keen to progress and improve further in her second year with the reds.

Speaking on signing her new deal at City, Morgan said: "I am over the moon to sign a new deal with this club, I love it here.

"I have built a great relationship with the rest of the squad and staff, and I think that showed in my performances on the pitch last season.

"It was a fantastic experience for me to become a full-time professional this season and now I'm looking forward to getting another season under my belt and pushing on next season.

"We want to compete for promotion next season and that's why I'm glad to sign a new deal at Bristol City as I believe my ambitions match those of the club."

Morgan began playing football at the age of four for local youth side Saron Juniors, and at the age of 11, she joined Ammanford Girls.
