CHRISTMAS arrives in Llandeilo on November 26 with the official lights switch-on and a weekend of festive events planned.

On Friday, November 26, the town band and carol singers will kick-start the proceedings at 6.30pm under the Christmas tree and at 7pm the mayor will switch on the Christmas lights. Santa Claus will then arrive with his reindeer to greet the children.

The winners of the Christmas window competition will also be announced on the night.

On Saturday, November 27, from 10am until 1pm the children can visit Santa's grotto in Hengwrt, the refurbished Shire Hall and from midday there will be live music in the courtyard of the White Horse. In Station Road, Davies and Co will provide a weekend of entertainment with craft stalls and live music so it promises to be a lively and joyful weekend.

There will be free parking in the main car park on both days and the shops will be open until late.
