A 24-hour vending machine serving up fresh milk has opened in Ammanford.

Llaeth Beynon Dairy launched the new milk and milkshake machine last week opposite TRJ on Foundry Road.

The milk comes from local farmer and vending machine owner Gareth Beynon, based on the outskirts of Hendy.

Speaking at last week's launch, local MP Jonathan Edwards said: “I fully support this new venture. It ensures that local residents can get high quality local milk and milkshakes, whilst keeping the money spent in Carmarthenshire.

"We need more local businesses which in turn support other local businesses, instead of our money being funnelled away to anonymous multi-national companies”

The first customer was Awel Lewis, from Penybanc with her mother, Sian who were both delighted with the milkshake flavours on offer.

Gareth Beynon said: “We are delighted to open a Llaeth Beynon milk vending machine in Ammanford, supplying local milk produced on the family farm in Hendy.

"We would like to thank our customers old and new for their support”.

Dafydd Jones of TRJ Ltd said he was happy to lend his support to Llaeth Beynon Dairy. “As a company we always try to buy and employ locally so it is good to be able to support this new venture," he said.
