Carmarthenshire Volunteer Services CAVS has issued Llandeilo community with an amazing four out of a total of sixteen awarded volunteer recognition certificates.

The most personal certificate went to "star volunteer" and former mayor Owen James and Councillor Geraint Price for their hard work in the Llandeilo Parks.

The Llandeilo Food Hub volunteers Karen Towns, Lynn Williams, Cerys Morgan, Urszula Haines, Catrin Thomas, Jordan James, Alex Cook and Owen James also received recognition for their fast response to the Covid crisis and for “how warm, thoughtful and kind they have run their operation for over a year".

CAVS also recognised the volunteers at the Llandeilo donation drive-through at Cae Williams, who are still manning it week after week in all weather. The team are currently: Amanda Stone, Janet Aethwy, Alan Thomas, Euryn Madoc-Jones, Mark Bleasdale, Ainsley Davies, Isaac Romanov, Helen Adam, Christoph Fischer and Liz Beckwith.

The fourth certificate thanked the team behind the Llandeilo Community Action Hub – volunteers that have taken on the task of organising volunteers and community groups in Llandeilo and strengthen them: Helen Adam, Candace Browne, Julia Cox, Christoph Fischer, Kate Glanville, Euryn Madoc-Jones, Isaac Romanov, Charlotte Walker and John Meredith Williams.

“It’s great to be working with so many keen volunteers,” said Owen James. “We’d be nothing without volunteers helping all the way!”

“If you want to get involved watch out for our volunteer registration forms by the Llandeilo Community Action Hub,” says chair Christoph Fischer.

“Everybody can get involved in our community, using their own individual talents.”
