PUPILS at Ysgol Gwaun Cae Gurwen have taken part in a litter pick to mark Earth Day.
Year five and six pupils – Dosbarth Owain Glyndwr – collected rubbish around the school and village on Thursday, April 22.
Teacher Rhys Griffiths said: “We are studying the local area as a theme this term and we have noticed that littering is a real issue. We decided to complete a litter pick to help our local community and thought that Earth Day would be ideal to emphasise the issue.
“We collected bags-full of rubbish from around the school, where it was so evident that rubbish is an issue here.”
Gwaun cae Gurwen Councillor Sonia Reynolds said: "Well done years five and six and Mr Griffiths. Thank you for the care you are showing for our community."
