A LLANGADOG woman has been fined for driving without due care and attention after she crashed into a motorcyclist on the A40.
Llanelli Magistrates’ Court heard how Janet Davies, of Llanddeusant, was driving a Mitsubishi Shogun on the A40 at Manordeilo when she turned into a fuel station forecourt directly in the path of the oncoming motorcyclist, resulting in a collision.
The court also heard how the motorcyclist braked and veered to the right to try and avoid the crash. As a result, the rider sustained serious injuries including a broken left forearm, four fractured ribs, dislocated left clavicle bone and bruising to both knees.
The 58-year-old, who was not present in court, admitted the charge against her.
She was fined £80, ordered to pay a £34 victim services surcharge and £100 court costs. Her licence was endorsed with six penalty points.
