Dyfed-Powys police officers have issued a dispersal order following reports of anti-social behaviour.

Following recent complaints made by residents in Ammanford, police have brought in tougher measures to tackle the problem.

Ammanford Police have issued a Section 34 dispersal order in Ammanford meaning any group of individuals that have caused anti-social behaviour will be issued with a section 35 notice requiring them to leave the area.

This also applies to those who appear to be behaving in a manner that causes alarm or distress to residents.

A statement from Ammanford Neighbourhood Policing Te said: "Officers have recently been dealing with a number of complaints regarding levels of anti-social behaviour in and around the town centre.

"We have also received reports of individuals riding bikes in the evenings also causing anti-social behaviour.

"We are now taking positive action with the support of Ammanford Inspector Bleddyn Jones to target this issue.

"A section 34 has been authorised for a number of streets in and around Ammanford Town Centre so anyone deemed to be causing harassment, alarm or distress to members of the public will be issued a Section 35 notice.

"This may also result in any bicycles or other items being seized under this power.

"If the behaviour continues after this point another avenue of positive action will be taken under the Anti-social behaviour, Crime and Policing Act 2014.

"Our aim in Ammanford Neighbourhood Policing Team is to reduce anti-social behaviour in the town centre by working with partner agencies and the local community to problem solve any issues that may arise."
