COUNCILLORS are working to make sure residents are aware of what help and support is available in the area among the Coronavirus outbreak.

Councillor Glynog Davies, Carmarthenshire County Councillor for Brynaman, is offering his help for the elderly in the area, and also encouraging those who are fit and able to help out.

Mr Davies also said residents should do their best to ensure neighbours do not suffer from loneliness during times of isolation.

He said: "In these unprecedented times it’s so important that as a community we work together and do our utmost especially for the underprivileged in our midst.

"Please keep an eye on the elderly and infirmed living near you. Ring around to try and avoid loneliness.

"Carmarthenshire CC is doing its utmost to maintain services and plans are prepared for all kinds of eventualities.

"As your County Councillor please ring me if you require help - 07786 336412 or 07866 567013. I have an emergency number for the county.

"I appreciate the efforts being made by both community centres in Cwarter Bach. Although Ystradowen is closed meals are available for delivery. Please ring Emily on 01639 830406. Oil orders are being taken.
